The "Holiday" Problem
Notice anything missing from these Best Buy Gift Cards?
They have a wide selection so why the need to "not" have a Christmas themed gift card? The door has been opened by having a Hanukkah Gift card so why not a Christmas card and a Kwanzaa card for that matter?
I'm not one to get my panties in a bunch about such things but this does seem kind of stupid and certainly feeds into the general consensus that it's okay to dis Christmas but not other holidays celebrated in the general time frame of the Winter Solstice. And if Best Buy is catering to the "Holiday" shopper and not the "Christmas" shopper then why provide a shopping guide that helps people get their gifts shipped by Dec. 24th. Why would "holiday" shoppers be worried about getting something before the 25th? Beats me!
But I do have an idea for a new "Holiday" tradition that will let people avoid criticisms from Christians when they try to put up a "Holiday Tree". They should put up a "Holiday Elephant" instead. The annual tradition will be to decorate the elephant in lights and tinsel...and then pretend it isn't there.

Always happy to see another Catholic putting cafepress.com to good use. Check out CatholicSwag.com for some last minute Christmas gifts. My favorite is the "Vote For Pio" t-shirt.
