Disney literary adaptations

I'm not sure how this came up, but it's interesting what a little traffic-jam time with my high-schooler will generate. In the long tradition of Disney's adaptations of literary classics like The Prince and the Pauper and The Three Musketeers, we were wondering what a Disney adaptation of Steinbeck's Of Mice And Men would look like...

Of Mice and Goofs

World of SaintCraft?

Strangely enough, these demons attacking St. Anthony look suspiciously like many of the Horde characters and beasts that routinely attack my Alliance character in World of Warcraft.

Although, when I think about it, it may not be that strange. It's possible the artists who create the characters for WoW have used such images as inspiration and reference.

And as an aside, I wonder how long before the WoW Expansion - The Burning Crusade- comes under attack for it's politically incorrect title?

New Liturgical Ministry

I knew there was a reason I was shying away from becoming an usher, uh, sorry, Minister of Hospitality.

I now know the Holy Spirit has been holding me in reserve for use as a beadle. Why else would I be so tall and big (okay, fat) and bald if I wasn't born to be a bouncer beadle. I suppose the name will have to be changed. Off the top of my head I'm thinking Enforcement Ministers or Ministers of Extra-Ordinary Wrath would be good.

Talking Turkey with Gilbert K.

A turkey is more occult and awful than all the angels and archangels. In so far as God has partly revealed to us an angelic world, he has partly told us what an angel means. But God has never told us what a turkey means. And if you go and stare at a live turkey for an hour or two, you will find by the end of it that the enigma has rather increased than diminished. - Gilbert K. Chesterton

Art Solidarity

I like the way this guy thinks: Art Solidarity.

In a perfect world I would be blogging about things like this. I am very interested in the subject of "beauty in art" and "beauty as truth". These guys seem to have it going on!
